Okay Diary,

Just one short story before bedtime:

Girl meets Boy. Boy falls for Girl, calls Girl a lot and romances her and sends her gifts. Girl starts to get excited about Boy. Boy disappears. Girl waits 2 weeks then calls Boy. Boy's phone beeps as he is on the other line, but he doesn't pick up. Girl leaves friendly but realistic voicemail that says she is worried since she has not heard from him, and hopes everything is okay. Girl tells boy happy new year and she hopes nothing bad happened. Boy does not call back. Instead, Boy sends smiley-face laden text message saying he saw that Girl called, but he can't talk right now because he's sick, and he'll call her some other time. Girl thinks this sounds very fishy, not just due to the fact that she knows Boy was just on the other line, but also the amount of smiley faces is slightly suspicious. Girl thinks something is going on, but as usual, nobody will tell her anything. Girl sighs and gets into bed. Girl tells her Diary all about it, perhaps resigned to the fact that certain things just aren't meant to be.
